My first website was created using crude, self-taught HTML during my freshman year of college. I was majoring in English, but had quite a crush on the center fielder for the Texas Rangers, Laynce Nix. Many late nights resulted in a fan page for Laynce.
When I started my first “real job” at age 22, I was given the task of creating a website for my employer – the Hood County Senior Center. There wasn’t a website at all, so I started from scratch. My experience with WordPress was only as a blog, never as a fully-fledged website creation tool. But with determination and lots of Googling, I taught myself and the site was up and running.
In the years since, I have used the WordPress platform to create and/or maintain websites for entertainers, associations, retail stores, artists, churches, and summer camps. The websites are as varied as my clients, and are customized to their wants and needs.
I grew up in Granbury, Texas – the seventh generation of my family to live in Hood County. I attended public school in Granbury through graduation. Upon graduation, I enrolled in Texas Woman’s University in Denton. After two years, I decided I was just too far from home. I moved back that summer and transferred to Tarleton State University, my Dad’s alma mater. I graduated with a B.A. in English. I worked for non-profits for 10 years before deciding to start my own web design business.
My husband and I met in 2010 in Leadership Granbury. We have been married for 5 years and have 3 dogs and 1 cat. We are currently expecting our first child, a little boy, in Spring 2019.
